How to stay connected:

PTO Meetings - Meetings will be held bimonthly, on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 3:15 p.m. They will be located in the Carterville Elementary teachers lounge.

Newsletters - We occasionally send notes home wit the students. They include highlights from recent meetings, plans for upcoming events, and other need-to-know information. Look for them in your student's backpack!

Mission Statement
The purpose of the PTO is to enhance and support the educational experience at Carterville Elementary, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parent involvement, and to improve the environment at Carterville Elementary through volunteer and financial support.


Upcoming Events:

September 10th - Our first PTO meeting of the year will be at 3:15 on Thursday the 10th. We meet in the large room across from the office. Children of all ages are welcome at the meeting! Some of us send our older kids out to the playground and there are usually several smaller kids and babies at the meeting. :) We have a few items on the agenda at this time, including the Book Fair, assigning Room Moms, the Halloween Party, and the T-shirt Order.

September 18th/25th - We will be sorting and packaging the Carterville T-shirt orders starting at 8 am on Friday the 18th or 25th. We need lots of help for this! It typically takes 3-4 hours, but feel free to come for whatever portion of the morning you are available. Please let us know if you plan to come and the approximate time frame you are available!

October 19-23 and April 4-8, 2016 - We will have Scholastic Book Fairs from October 19-23 and April 4-8, 2016. For these events, we will need help before, during, and after school. We also need help setting up on the previous Fridays, October 16th and April 1st. We will have more specific details as the event gets closer.


Mandatory Background Check for Volunteers
The Webb City School District takes the safety of our children very seriously. In order to be a PTO Volunteer, you must pass a Criminal Background Check. Forms are available at any time in the school office and we will have them at the PTO Meeting on September 18th. Once the form is filled out and turned in, it will take approximately two weeks for the background check to be completed. You will not be allowed to volunteer for PTO events until your background check is complete.
